Honda is committed to finding new ways to make our vehicles groundbreaking. That’s why the 2014 Odyssey features HondaVAC™, the world’s first OEM in-vehicle vacuum system. The Odyssey also boasts safety upgrades, refined exterior styling and new technology features designed to take minivan innovation to a whole new level.
At the forefront of all the enhancements for the 2014 edition is the HondaVAC™, which was developed with industry-leader Shop-Vac®. Standard on the Touring trim, it includes a replaceable filter and canister bag, with nozzle accessories conveniently integrated into the rear cargo area. With a powerful motor that never needs an outlet or recharging, the HondaVAC™ makes cleanups quick and easy whether you’re parked in your driveway or by a campsite.
The innovation continues throughout the interior, with HondaLink™ featuring Aha™ Mobile interface, SMS text messaging and Smart Entry with Pushbutton Start among the new technology features on Touring models. The revolutionary HondaLink™, recently introduced on the 2013 Accord, lets you connect quickly and easily to a wide variety of cloud-based content.
The technological power of the 2014 Odyssey can also be found in advanced driver-assisting features like the Expanded View Driver’s Mirror, Forward Collision Warning (FCW) and Lane Departure Warning (LDW) systems, all standard on Touring models. These confidence-inspiring features complement what is already a responsive, powerful and, of course, safety-focused ride. Currently an IIHS Top Safety Pick with an NHTSA 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score for crash safety ratings, the newest edition of the Odyssey has been further upgraded to meet new ratings criteria. These improvements are specifically designed to achieve top marks in the IIHS’ stringent new small-overlap frontal crash test, part of their new standards for ranking Top Safety Picks.
There are even more upgrades to be found on the Odyssey’s exterior. It has sleeker, more sophisticated styling with enhancements like a new deeply sculpted aluminum hood, a bolder twin-bar grille, LED taillight bars and a refreshed front end with integrated chrome-trimmed fog lights. Pair this newly sharpened design with all of the unprecedented new features, and it’s easy to see why the 2014 Honda Odyssey is unlike any other minivan on the road.
